Welcome to my new page that my husband created for me a few months ago and I am finally getting to post something on here. 2015 is coming to an end, so are you ready for a change?
‘We’ve been busy’ would be an understatement.
So many, and I mean, so many things have happened in the past few months and a year to say the least. In general, it is really hard to adjust to change. However, this is one type of change that, although took a period of adjustment, was the change that needed to be done. This was long-awaited and apparently had been highly anticipated by some of our close friends.
So I am just going to slowly but surely fill you in on the most important details and then when I finally make the time to post on here, the specifics will follow….
I recently moved to the Lancaster area from Bucks County when I married my best friend of 10 years (we first met today, December 5, 2005). Friends and acquaintances I’ve known for years might have wondered, wasn’t I in a good marriage before? Indeed, I was in a marriage and we still remain friends. He has moved on and happily in a relationship with someone and we’ve stayed good friends. He is a good man. We’ve also heard the saying YOLO (similar to carpe diem and trademarked by rapper Drake in 2011) so many times before and so this is what I am doing. You cannot stay with someone because the society expects you to, it looks good in paper, for the kids/dogs, etc. You can stay good friends, but if the marriage and love no longer exist, then you are wasting your time and not living your life. So this is what I did.
I also believe in everything happens for a reason and circumstances that you set yourself, lead you to where you are now. In my case…happy and in love.
Fast forward to 2014. Through spam email, my best friend and I reconnected and on May 18, 2015, we tied the knot to be together forever. Sounds a little cliché but the funny thing is, we really WERE best friends in the true sense of the word before we were in a ‘relationship.’ We already had that strong foundation and we’ve been through so much together, and separated, that led us to where we are now… happier together.
We are so alike, we think alike (scary) and yet, we are also different from each other. In short…perfection for two imperfect people.
So now, I’ve changed my residence, I’ve changed my last name, I’ve changed jobs, from full-time and part-time jobs and truly happy with my full time job now (finally!), but there is one thing (okay maybe a million things) that have not changed. I have always wanted to be happy, even if I tried to be happy, since I am generally a positive person. My love for Scott was always there the minute he stepped foot at my desk at work 10 years ago. I have not changed my love and commitment to my students, the peeps that inspired and motivated me at the NAC, Retro FH, LA Fit, Ride Cycling Studio, YMCA, and the HAC. I miss and love them all so much and I wouldn’t be where I am now and then some, if not for all my friends. I will not be mentioning any names as there are just so many of you and I don’t want to miss anyone. Now that I have started coaching and training at the biggest sports club in North America, I am looking forward to motivating and being inspired by my Spooky Nook friends. I am also super thankful of the new connections that I acquired from helping seasonal at the lululemon showroom in Lancaster. I have never met so many good people where I am now as well.
Last, but not least and this is just the beginning, I still cannot believe that I am married to someone who NOT only reads my mind, my actions, but can also feel the beating of my heart no matter how far apart we are (6 miles apart when we’re at work), or when we’re holding hands and just being us, doing a gaggillion things or absolutely nothing, on the weekends and every waking moment. He is my husband, who introduced me to his welcoming family. He is my number one supporter, my best friend, confidante, blog editor, official professional photographer, my hot ass cyclo-cross and soon to be mountain biking coach, motivator, my inspiration, bearded tall drink of water, the other half of #TeamKICKASS … Scott Kingsley.
Get used to this huge change in my life…. Because he is the love of my life forever, the one that makes me happy in so many levels. We are already looking forward to what 2016 will bring.
