Before I moved to Lancaster, I was teaching all over Bucks County. My dedicated students pushed themselves to new levels to achieve their goals and set new ones. Some former students have been so inspired, they went on to become instructors themselves.
Over time, we’ll add some of those success stories that continue to motivate me and hopefully, will motivate you to start the journey to a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.
Scott
On our wedding day, Scott weighed 218lbs.
One of my success stories, which honestly did not surprise me, was my husband. Scott has been an athlete all of his life, participating in soccer and field hockey in high school, cross country and soccer in college, and picking up ice hockey for a little bit after college. Throughout his life, he has also been a cyclist, and I’ll always refer to him as my cycling coach.
At his heaviest, he weighed 218lbs, which happened to also be when we got married. He wasn’t happy with it, and it wasn’t healthy. In February of 2016, he decided to do something about it. The first thing we did was to look at his diet. Every morning, he had oatmeal with dried raisins and cranberries. It’s a pretty healthy option but was loaded with sugar from the raisins and cranberries. Having heard good reviews about Vega, and a friend who is an ambassador for the brand, he replaced his oatmeal with a Vega One shake. Also, he made the decision to adopt a vegetarian diet.
Six months later, and almost 30 lbs less.
Over the next few months, with a change to his diet and utilizing an app to track his food intake, the pounds began to fall off and he started to become leaner. I added in workouts at the gym and running, and he increased his training on the bike, and he has continued to make gains. Six months in, and he has lost almost 30 pounds and continues to push on to reach his health and athletic goals.
